TIM Brazil and Sisteer announce agreement to address MVNO market in Brazil
- TIM consolidates on the market as being the Pioneer MNO implementing MVNOs in Brazil
- Sisteer is a technological partner operating its own MVNE platform, acting as a mediator of future MVNO needs in the country.
Two months after signing the first MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) contract in Brazil, wireless Carrier TIM Brazil announces new partnership with European MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler) leader Sisteer to provide MVNO outsourcing services on the Brazilian market. Under terms of the agreement, TIM Brazil gives Sisteer the ability to host MVNOs on his platform, and provide them with a full range of mobile services such as domestic and international pre-paid and post-paid calls, SMS and data. This agreement consolidates TIM Brazil position in the market as the pioneer in implementing virtual mobile operators in the country.
"The partnership with Sisteer is in line with TIM Brazil’s strategy in betting on this new business model. Without a doubt, the MVNO market is promising and it is expecting significant growth over the next five years. Our proposal is to bring telecommunications services to specific market segments and offer our expertise to partners in the industry”, points out André Telles, Director of Wholesale TIM Brazil. "It is still too early to disclose the new virtual mobile operators who will be born from this agreement, but we can say that we are still studying new partnerships”, says Mr. Telles.
Sisteer will take care of all future MVNO operations, implementing its own converging platform (Voice and Data), for pre and post-paid lines based on the ZTE Zsmart solution.
"The partnership with TIM Brazil is a great opportunity for Sisteer to develop our activities in a dynamic market such as Brazil”, says Alain Bureau, Sisteer’s CEO. “We see this step as a first move to attend Latin America”.
Both partners plan to launch their first MVNO before the end of 2011.
